Machir Bay is among Islay’s most beautiful beaches.  It has a 2 kilometre stretch of sand and as a child I remember digging the biggest hole and swimming in a nearby natural pool with my brother and friends. Nearby Kilchoman hosts one of Islay’s newest distilleries.
